STOP Cyberbullying
Why Wait For depression or suicide to help a person feeling alone? Many people overlook cyberbullying until something like that could have been prevented happens. Cyberbullying has become very popular over the last couple of years and each year cyberbullying gets worst, but still no one wants to put an effort to stop it. School Should be allowed to help prevent this problem of cyberbullying because in may cases the victim is still being torched at school. School could be a big help even though the incident of cyberbullying does not happen at school, it affects many people in the school not just the victims. School should be able to be involved with cyberbullying because eventually what is done out of schools comes back to the school rather from the bully or the victim, even witnesses.
Cyber bullying really has an effect on many people not just that one victim. This problem may be done at home on the computer or cell phone, but it does not stay just there. Many people bring the jokes and text and insults to school. This makes the kids in school distracted worried about what was said last night, not what’s going on in class right now. They talk about who got picked on and who was telling everything. Talking about what picture they saw last night. The victims are worried about who seen what of them last night. They Know everyone knows, everyone seen what she had to go through last night. Some time they don’t even come to school to afraid of what people will say. Being Afraid to say something or look into people eye as you walk through the school. You already know what they think of you from what they found out last night. The victims are effected everywhere you go. The internet is worldwide so everyone can see. Everyone can judge you from what they saw or what they heard about you.
Have you ever heard “ What is done in the dark, comes in the light?” that quote really has a lot of meaning when it comes to cyberbullying. No matter what and how you say something on the internet, in private or out in the open it will always be worldwide. You may think no one will ever see this, but someone will sometimes everyone will. What you say about someone on the internet becomes worldwide not to just them and your friend, but everyone. How would that person feel when their first outlook to someone five thousand miles away is that they are a slut. No one would feel good about that. No one would want to be that person. No one would want to talk to that person. No one would respect that person. Now because of a cyberbully that person feels alone, scared, and hurt.
In one of the articles I found it stated that many schools try get involve with cyberbullying but after a while they stop trying for the simple fact that they keey getting slapped in the hand by the court. This shows that in some cases schools don’t mind getting involve but they are being stop. Why would anyone stop someone who is trying to help prevent a problem? What could help the court understand they need more help? More deaths?
In my article “Anti-Cyberbullying , a mom Stacy Wilder stated how she knows her daughter suicide was because of being cyber bullies and she is striving to get it fixed that there is more help to get it fixed. Can you really think of any down falls about the school being involved with cyberbullying done outside of school. What really could be the bad outcomes of that happening? I agree wit her. There couldn’t really any bad outcome for the school helping with this situation.
School should be involved because just because it happened at home does not mean that it cannot come up in school, most likely it will. From other kids picking to the victim constantly thinking about what is going through everyone heads and how they think about him/her. They Have to be face to face with the person who was calling them all those awful names and spreading dirty information about you on the internet. Wouldn’t that make you dread being there. Make you want to just up and leave from where ever you are. Why would anyone want to be around someone like that. Someone who is ruining there life? Why would the victim have to move schools and constantly feel like there in the wrong for being there.
School being involved with cyberbullying done outside of school would be great. It would give the victim more people to reach out to instead of going to what they think that last resort is. Cyberbullying can bring you down so much and make you feel alone. The more people there really is to reach out too the more they could be open. They would actually think twice knowing there is someone out there. School should be involved with cyberbullying outside of school because it is never really outside of school.

Exploratory Essay
Cyber bullying : School Involvement
My ninth grade year in my Civics class we had a project called project citizens.
We were in a group and we had to present information about a certain topic we picked as
a class. My class choose cyber bullying. From all the information we got and stories we
had to read I really took an interest in this topic. Finding out about all these teen suicides
and how people say it really is not a big issue because teens are going to be teens; since
when did teens drive their peers to killing themselves. They put someone in the state of
mind that death is better than life. I think this is a big problem. Death happens everyday
and I think this way is a way that we can help prevent it. I don’t think the government or
schools are doing enough about this issue and I think the school should be more involved.
Rather it happen in school out of school or even if it has nothing to do with
school, it affects the people lives in school and for the victim it distracts them from work
or actually being involved with school. My research from StopCyberBullying.org states
“Schools can be very effective brokers in working with the parents to stop and remedy
cyber bullying situations. They can also educate the students on cyber ethics and the law.
If schools are creative, they can sometimes avoid the claim that their actions exceeded
their legal authority for off-campus cyber bullying actions. We recommend that a
provision is added to the school's acceptable use policy reserving the right to discipline
the student for actions taken off-campus if they are intended to have an effect on a
student or they adversely affect the safety and well-being of student while in school.”
Teenagers having to skip school because something that was posted on a social network
that night. Not being able to concentrate in class because kids snicker behind her/him
over what someone said the night before on face book about them. Everything that
happen out of school eventually comes back to the school. I would know I am a teenager
Thousand of teens explore social networkings from twitter to facebook and many
more and teens are always on cell phones and any type of technology to keep updated
with what’s going on in their life , peers and celebrities. A couple of years ago teens
started taking these social networks for the wrong things, exposing peers making
teenagers life miserable all through technology, and for what? They think it is cool. Why
would anyone think this is cool? Harassing people so that everyone can see. Nothing is
private through the internet and it never goes away. When you put something up there its
there for good and anyone can see even ten years for now. That is not even the bad part
about cyber bullying, so many teens are taking there life because of being cyber bullied,
harassed, and made fun of through the internet. From the little things that they actually
did to complete lies. No one should have to go through that. Parents are having to bury
their kids over something that could be stopped if they really try. Friends and families are

losing love ones over something someone think is “cool”. Nothing is cool about harassing
someone so much they get the idea to kill themselves. For some teenager not matter what
they did in life to actually take their own life. For them to have the feeling that death is
the only way out. Some people may say “oh they took the easy way out of all this they
were crazy for killing themselves“, but you never know how strong or weak someone is.
You never know how much a person can take you don’t know their lifestyle or what they
are going through. A person trying their best to bring them down could just be the end for
them and maybe they feel that is the only way for peace. People making hell on earth for
them is not cool nor does it make sense.
After saying all this my real question is should school be involved with cyber
bullying no matter if it is done outside of school and has nothing to do with school ?
I mean would it actually make an impact of cyber bullying if school was more involved
would their be an increase or decrease in cyber bullying. I want to know what you think
after taking a look at my blog.
